Dimitri-Chris Alexiou Birth of a passion and the entrance to a new world... Born and raised in Montreal, Dimitri-Chris was immersed in fashion at a very young age. His mother being a seamstress, Dimitri learnt about the art of creating and grew fond of making outfits for his sister’s dolls. His time in high school did not separate him from his calling as he became a huge fan of fashion magazines. After leaving Montreal at the age of 13 for Europe, he decided to pursue his love and passion for fashion by studying at the International Academy of Design. He graduated from that institute in 1999. Dimitri-Chris started his adventure by working for a large manufacturer in Montreal. He then continued his journey by getting an employment with a high-end clothing boutique in which he was able to acquire a certain finesse which the clientele was keen on. Meanwhile, Dimitri-Chris went back to his sketchbooks, which let him deepen his skills and creativity. He travelled on numerous occasions for trend spotting, which he would bring back, re-work and present to the local market. For the past two years, the collections of DIMITRICHRIS could be found at UR IMIJ Menswear Boutique (be-spoke tailoring) on Notre-Dame Street in Old Montreal. His ready to wear collections, illustrate the designer’s personal trademark style where both tailor and couture are transported to the modern man. Dimitri-Chris joins both universes: be-spoke and ready to wear.
